Miss Adventure Rides Again

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” ~ Neale Donald Walsch

Dear-hearts: I’ve been down the rabbit hole.

I haven’t written much since I was accepted into Mindvalley U in Barcelona in March. I’ve been prepping ever since I decided to ‘go for it’ on March 21 – the day after the Spring Equinox. I booked an Airbnb, got my passport renewed, bought airline tickets, paid my tuition, changed my phone service so I could use my phone overseas, got someone to come and stay with my mom for part of my trip and others to check on her regularly when she’s alone. I wrote my will (sobering) and my health directive. I cleaned up my house and organized (somewhat) my files. I set up my summer course (yes, I am teaching while I am away) and finished my spring courses and put them to bed.

While I did all this, my friends and family and the people who read my blog helped me raise half the funds needed to do this. $2200 through Go Fund Me and checks or cash sent to me directly.

I learned a lot on this bumpy journey.

I learned what it means to live authentically and ask for what you need. I learned about trust and free fall.

I learned that if I set my mind on something, I am perfectly capable of manifesting what I want and need.

I read You are a Badass and You are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero. I set up a course on teachable (almost done if you are interested!) and I offered to teach an informal writing workshop in Spain. So far, there are about 50 people interested in taking it. We will likely meet in a coffee shop or at the HUB where most of our activities take place and write for an hour or so every few days.

Going after all these things certainly ratcheted up my anxiety. I haven’t traveled much in the past 40 years. I have not left the US (except for a train trip across Canada) since 1979. I awoke this morning holding my breath and had to remind myself to just breathe.

Just breathe. In and out. Slow and steady.

I will be taking a workshop with Neale Donald Walsch (who wrote the quote that starts this piece and makes me teary every time I read it) while I am away. We will spend three days grounding light and working to awaken the species like his latest wonderful book suggests.

I am one of just 400 chosen to embrace this opportunity. The conference is sold out.

I will spend the Summer Solstice on the Mediterranean and carry the stars in my pockets.

I will eat tapas and drink beer and walk to the Picasso Museum and Sagrada Familia and Park Guell.

And I will write about my adventures and share them here.

Next week, I wake up on the other side of the world. (OMIGOD.)

I will write to you when I get there.
