“The most incomprehensible thing about the universe is that it is comprehensible.” ~ Albert Einstein
A couple of nights ago I couldn’t sleep. Finally around 4 AM, I gave up and got out of bed, walked through the dark womb of my house trailing four confused, but nonetheless hungry, cats. I fed the beasts and let the dog out to pee. Then, I made a pot of coffee, filled up my favorite cup, and took the steaming mug into my office to turn on my PC. For an hour or so, I drank coffee and dawdled in front of the computer, surfing Facebook and checking email to see if anything looked interesting. Then, I stumbled across a link to a short film called, The Ceremony of Original Innocence, (click the link to see it). I felt so drawn to it I watched it immediately.
I spent the next thirty-six minutes absolutely transfixed, watching this deeply beautiful, energetically powerful film. It takes you through the elements of water, earth, fire, air, tantra and ether, while you watch luminescent images of the solar star, the flower of life, and other forms of sacred geometry. You repeat affirmations with the narrator along the way. I cannot explain the essence of what happens, except to say that if you are like me, you will experience a profound sense of wonder, peace and love. It is beyond what mere words can describe.
“Geometry existed before the creation.” ~ Plato
The film was created by an organization called The Template and two individuals, Jiva and Juliet Carter, along with many others supporting the project.
The purpose of the film is to assist anyone who wants to watch it start their personal transformation away from what the narrator calls, “the addictive, dualistic reality” that currently passes for life on earth. Right now, everything is seen through the lens of black and white, right and wrong, good and bad. Think about the combative nature of just about everything. That angry, competitive stance is not natural. Our nature engenders cooperation and kindness and compassion. War, hatred and strife are learned. We do not arrive here in such a state. Babies are not born labeling themselves or others as wrong or stupid. They are not born feeling jealousy or guilt. They arrive feeling innately connected to and part of all life. That is all they know.
This film seeks to help us remember our true nature. As Buddhism stipulated over 3,000 years ago, we have “never not existed.” We will “never not exist.” We are eternal beings without end.
There can be no duality once we deeply understand this. Everything and everyone is interwoven and connected. There is no separation between ourselves and others. That is an illusion.

I sat ruminating in a state of near shock/bliss after watching The Ceremony of Original Innocence. Mystically, I felt light — like golden sap — suddenly rise up within me.
I emailed my best friend a link to the film, and she watched it as well. That night, we were both aflutter with excitement, buzzing with the beauty of the experience. Since then, I’ve sent the film to several others, including my mom and my older brother. I encourage everyone to watch this film. In a world where so much of what we see on a daily basis has the stink of deception, spite, hatred and spin, to experience something so positive and so life-affirming is a rare and tender gift. I am completely changed. You will be too.
