Anyone who has read my blog for a while knows that I wrote a post about Mari last fall shortly after she died.

I received word this morning that a poem I wrote about her, Ephemera, has been accepted for publication in the second volume of The Cancer Poetry Project, which will be published later this year.

It was chosen as one of 144 poems in a field of over 1000. I cried and cried when I heard.  I wish I could tell her about it, but my feeling is, she already knows.

Here’s to you, beautiful girl.
